millbrook, cabernet franc, hudson valley, new york
Notes of violet and dark bramble fruits such as blackberry and black raspberry characterize the rich aromas. Palate-coating flavors of black current and coffee bean with ripe tannins carry through to the smooth finish.
bove, motepulciano d’abruzzo, avegiano
A robust and savoury style of wine showing black cherry flavours combined with a little coconut and vanilla.
zaccagnini, montepulciano d’abruzzo, tralcetto, 2017
Intense ruby red with purplish reflections; intense nose, characteristic of the primary aromas of the grape variety; a fruity element, robust and full-bodied, well-balanced with its tannins.
ALBERT BICHOT, PINOT NOIR, FIXIN
A smooth, polished style, offering black cherry, black currant, earth and mineral aromas and flavors. Dense and vibrant, with a lingering aftertaste of black fruit and mineral. Excellent length.
KEN WRIGHT, PINOT NOIR, ABBOT CLAIM VINEYARD, 2016
From a classic Ken Wright vineyard, this new vintage was picked early if the alcohol is any indicator, which brings up the acidity and adds extra freshness to the black cherry fruit. That acidity brings grapefruit and other citrus flavors along for the ride, and a streak of cola washes through the finish. Drinking well already, this has the structure to age over the next decade.
CASTELLO D’ALBOLA, CHIANTI CLASSICO
Intense and elegant with floral lily notes and hints of spices, pepper, cinnamon and tobacco. Decisive, voluminous and gently tannic on the palate. Long and lingering finish.
